Mikael Örn is the Honorary Consul of Sweden in Arizona and Nevada.

Mikael is the CEO at Malmsten Inc., the US division of Malmsten AB, a Swedish manufacturer of swimming pool and water polo equipment. Malmsten is the exclusive Official World Aquatics and Olympic Games Supplier for Swimming racing lanes and Water Polo goals and has supplied equipment to 11 Olympic Games including Paris in 2024. Malmsten has been selected to provide the Swimming and Water Polo equipment again to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Mikael is a retired IBM Executive where he held many roles as a Vice President in Engineering and served as the Chief Cloud Architect.

He is a current board member and founding member of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Arizona.

Mikael won a Bronze medal in the 1984 Olympic Games competing for Sweden in the 400m freestyle relay team. He swam at Arizona State University, where he was the 1983 NCAA champion in the 200-yard freestyle. Mikael was the PAC-10 Swimmer of the Year in 1983 and was inducted into the ASU Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

He received his BSE and MS degrees from ASU. Mikael and his wife, Kit, live in Fountain Hills, AZ. Their son, Anders, lives with his family in Mesa, AZ. Their daughter, Kaila, lives in Raleigh, NC.

The Örn family owns a working cattle ranch in eastern Arizona which is wonderful place to get back to basics.
